Certification Results

Results from each certification workshop had been captured in detail. While these data are too comprehensive to be displayed a website, on this site only the general results are documented. In case of interest you can request the detailled data from each workshop from the ISG-Coordinator. In case please indicate exactly in which results from which workshop you are interested.

Details of Certification Results

----------------

1. Round

Participating Applications

Import & Export

Allplan (Nemetschek)

ArchiCAD (Graphisoft)

Bentley Architecture (Bentley)

Revit Architecture (Autodesk)

TEKLA Structures (TEKLA) (not supporting annotations (2D))

Import only

Active3D (Archimen)

Solibri Model Checker (Solibri) (not supporting annotations (2D))

1st-Step-Certification

1st Workshop: 22.-23. Feb 2006 in Berlin

2nd Workshop: 04.-05. May 2006 in Munich

3rd Workshop: 28.-29. Jun 2006 in Budapest

Result:

The participating applications had been tested against some 250 test-cases. The IFC-interfaces of all applications reached a mature level of quality which is appropriate for starting beta-testing with data from real projects. In some cases issues had been detected, which had been documented for retesting.

With this Allplan, ArchiCAD, Bentley Architecture, Revit Architecture, TEKLA Structures, Active3D and Solibri Modelchecker passed the 1st-Step-Certification and the vendors committed themselves to resolve the issues as soon as possible. As a next step end-users will be invited to test the IFC-interfaces of the participating applications under conditions of daily practice. The feedback of this beta-test will be the result of the 2nd-Step-Certification.

2nd-Step-Certification

4th Workshop: 23.-24. Nov 2006 in Dijon

5th Workshop: 12.-14. Mar 2007 in Waltham

Result:

The participating applications were able to succesfully exchange IFC-data generated out of building projects, which had been provided by end-usres. Each exporting application had to generate the IFC-data of two building projects. Out of this collection one building project per application was selected, which was modelled best. All applications had to prove, that they were abel to read all selected building projects so that end-users were able to use the building objects according to the functionallity of each specifc application. Also all application vendors had to provide feedback from own users, saying that they were satisfied with the achieved level of quality. In some cases issues had been detected, which had been documented for retesting.

Allplan, ArchiCAD, Bentley Architecture, Revit Architecture, TEKLA Structures, Active3D and Solibri Modelchecker passed the 2nd-Step-Certification with the condition, that remaining issues have to be resolved in the near future.

Facility Online demonstrated that they were able to achieve 2nd-Step-Certification, but missed the first day and with this the 1-st-Step-Certification. Later on the workshop in Helsinki (May 2007) they pased the 1-st-Step-Certification and with this got at this date also the approval for the 2nd-Step-Certification.

6th Workshop:  21.-23. May 2007 in Helsinki / check of remaining issues

Reamining issues from earlier certification workshops had been ckecked. The applications showed very good progress in resolving their issues.

7th Workshop: 8. - 10. Oct 2007 in Budapest / check of remaining issues

2. Round

Participating Applications

AutoCAD Architecture (Autodesk)

Facility Online (Vizelia)

HousePartner (DDS)

MagiCAD (Progman)

OctagaViewer (Octaga)

SCIA-ESAPT (SCIA)

1st-Step-Certification

1st Workshop: 23.-24. Nov 2006 in Dijon

Result:

AutoCAD Architecture successfully passed the 1st-Step Certification based on IFC2x3 and the Extended Coordination View

2nd Workshop: 12.-14. Mar 2007 in Waltham

Result:

House Partner and MagiCAD successfully passed the 1st-Step Certification based on IFC2x3 and the Extended Coordination View

3rd Workshop: 21.-23. May 2007 in Helsinki

Result:

Facility Online successfully passed the 1st-Step Certification based on IFC2x3 and the Extended Coordination View . Due to conflicts in schedule, they passed the 2nd-Step Certification in advance (see also results of workshop in Waltham, above).

SCIA-ESAPT succesfully passed the 1st-Step-Certification based on IFC2x3 and the Extended Coordination View while some issues popped up and were documented.  The vendor committed himselve to resolve the issues as soon as possible.

2nd-Step-Certification

2nd Workshop: 12.-14. Mar 2007 in Waltham

Result:

AutoCAD Architecture and House Partner successfully passed the 2nd-Step Certification based on IFC2x3 and the Extended Coordination View under the condition, that remaining issues will be solved in the near future.

3rd Workshop:  21.-23. May 2007 in Helsinki

Result:
